Desai, MD, FAAD, has been installed as the new President of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), becoming the youngest ever to hold this esteemed position. Dr. Desai practices at Platinum’s Innovative Dermatology practice, which he founded in 2011 in Dallas, and brings a wealth of dedication, leadership, and innovation to his new role.
A magna cum laude graduate from Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Desai is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Board Certified Dermatologist with honors from Emory University. His distinguished career is marked by leadership positions in numerous medical organizations, significant contributions to academic medicine, and a strong commitment to patient care, with noteworthy advocacy and advancements for patients living with pigmentation disorders.

Recognized as one of Best Doctors by D Magazine every single year for more than a decade, Dr. Desai’s influence extends to significant publications, national and international presentations, and his active participation in the dermatologic community, including his past leadership roles in the Skin of Color Society, the DFW Dermatological Society, and the Texas Dermatological Society.
